Things I learnt this week
In homage to the new chatshow with the welsh warbler...
- The world is even more threathened by Republican evangelical Christians than I first thought. They are especially as Tony Robinson says so hellbent on bringing about the end of the world or at least another world war so that all the fully paid up members of their nutty sect can go to heaven ala startrek transporter while the rest of us get to die as the infidel sinners that we are. Barmy or what
- After not going running for 2 weeks, deciding to do 10 miles in one go, 2 miles more than my previous record isn't the smartest idea in the world but still a remarkably more useful contributuon to the sum of human knowledge than the deluded fantasies of the fat yank god squad bridge. On the plus side I did get to see a Heron on the way as well as very sore legs.
- Throwing plant laden flower pots that then smash into smitherines feels really good
- The length of the Labour Party deputy leadership ballot paper is to be measured in Milibands i.e the average height of David and Ed; about 6ft ish. As things stand at the moment we are looking at a 3.4 Miliband ballot paper although the sole remaining Labour MP who isn't running is trying to get some backing. David Cameron is already entered as he seeks to be the heir to Blair.

My mums a christian and I wouldn't say that she is a threat to world peace. She can just about control Rascal the cat so I think the deployment of nuclear weapons may be a little beyond her.
What I was refering to was the people on Tony Robinsons programme
Basically these people (endtimers) believe that their is going to be a nuclear war in the middle east and they are doing as much as they can to promote it. Like going to israeli occupied settlements and giving them wads of cash to remain on palastinian land.
Why do they want a nuclear war in the middle east. Well they believe that there will be a catastrophic series of events that will bring about the second coming of jesus christ.
But surely they want the world to still go on? Well this is the genius bit because actually they don't. This is because with the second coming of christ there will be a thing call rapture where all the believers, as if god keeps lists of sunday school attendence, will be spirited to heaven and the rest of the infidels will all die in the end of the world or Armageddon as it's sometimes called
And for some reason they believe the secretary general of the united nations is the anti christ. Which to me seems entirely wrong when it is obviously Maggie Thatcher.
The bit that worried me was when an endtime proponant said that the reagan administration would take his calls, the bush senior administration would sometimes take his calls. But the Bush Junior administration calls them up rather than the otherway round.
